Extra-Curricular activities

The College aims to create awareness among the students and provides opportunities to enhance their knowledge. In order to cherish and honor the memory of our founder late Mrs. Mona Chandravati Gupta, Padmashree awardee, a week-long series of competitions are organized.

Various inter-collegiate competitions are organized during the founder’s week. Cultural activities like Swarachit Kavita, Gaiyakavya, Rangoli, Mehndi, Poster making, Fashion Show, Salad Competition, Essay writing, Quiz, Folk Song and Dance, Volleyball tournament and Debate are held every year.

National Service Scheme (N.S.S.)

The objective of this scheme is ‘Service to Community’. It seeks to arouse the social consciousness among students and provide them with opportunities to work with people creatively and constructively and to put the education they receive to concrete social use.

By participating in the NSS programmes the students are able to:
1. Develop their personality and experience,
2. Understand themselves in relation to their community,
3. Identify the needs and problems of the community and look for solutions, in which they can be involved,
4. Gain skills in mobilizing community participation,
5. Acquire leadership qualities and democratic attitudes,
6. Develop capacity to meet emergencies and natural disasters,
7. Practice national integration and,
8. Develop among themselves a sense of social and civic responsibility.

The College has two units of NSS. Approximately 200 students enroll as volunteers. The Programme Officers are appointed from the teaching faculty of the college. The college endeavors to develop entrepreneurial skills among the students by organizing various workshops during the N.S.S. camps. In these workshops students are trained to enhance various skills such as pottery making, painting, weaving, etc. Other programmes include socially relevant issues such as Aids Awareness, Pulse Polio, Adult Education, Sanitation and cleanliness, Female infanticide, Awareness about Voting Rights, etc.

National Service Scheme activities include a special ten day camp in an adopted village, rural or slum area imparting education and rendering community service. A certificate is awarded to each student who participates satisfactorily as an N.S.S volunteer.

National Cadet Corps (N.C.C.)

The college also has a NCC unit under the 19 U.P. Girls Battalion of the National Cadet Corps that further trains the girls for community service, good citizenship and plays a pivotal rate in the personality development of the students.

The Cadets of the 19 U.P. girls Battalion participate in the various Camps which are organized at the state and national level and have represented the state in the Republic Day Parade in the recent past

Sports - A healthy mind requires a healthy body;
The College has a Physical Education programme directed by a trained Physical Education instructor.

Games
Facilities for various games such as Basketball, Kho-Kho, Kabbadi, Atheletics, Volleyball and Badminton are available. There is also a facility for Indoor activities. Day scholars may participate in all these activities.
